Warning: This may be a negative point of view to our class, but something worth considering in hopes to find a solution!

Currently in the world eighty-one percent 1 of us is using technology at any given time. It's been a gift and a curse, but necessary we learn the basics of it. Within that eighty-one percent, just in the United States alone, each household owns at least one Apple product 2. Meaning almost everybody has access to an App Store.

With technology slowly taking over our lives it falls hand in hand with our education. For businesses to survive in the world they need to be updated on and using cutting edge technology. And with children being brought up in this world they are getting smarter when it comes to this tricky thing. That then means these businesses need to be seriously implementing this technology. It's an endless cycle.

It all seems good and great but when is enough, enough? It's a fine line and a never ending battle. Coming up with new and creative ways for using technology and applying it in our lives is always irresistible. But with the new the old fades away and could that be hurting us?

Starting small and following the whole essence of our class: BOOKS. Enhanced eBooks specifically. I found this study online titled "Are Enhanced E-Books Bad for Kids Reading Skills?" and once again I feel torn with the idea. On the positive side, enhanced eBooks give us the ability to further deepen our knowledge of a topic or story. The information and ways of getting that information delivered to us are almost infinite. The Internet doesn't stop learning and creating. On the negative side, maybe it's too much information thrown at us all at once. That's how this study came about.

This post is already long enough so I'll let you read the article here: https://gigaom.com/2012/05/29/are-enhanced-e-books-bad-for-kids-reading-skills/

What are your thoughts about this? Do you think this is an issue that could be resolved or has technology already done its damage? I mean… there’s an app for everything.
