InVision App

InVision is an app that's actually on your desktop or I mainly use it on desktop and not mobile. What you can do with InVision a create a high fidelity mock-up in Illustrator, Photoshop, Balsamiq, or whatever you use and create interactions with it. Now, it creates links to different pages. It doesn't have any animation, or sounds but I still feel like it's a good use so you know how your content flows together.

What I like about this app is that you can create your content in any mode you want it in. From iPad landscape to iPhone tablet view, it will show your mock-up. The only thing is, is that you need to know the size of the phone beforehand, but you can make it has long as you want and InVision will notice it needs to scroll.

But what I think this app is really useful for is testing the interactions on a page. Making sure everything flows smoothly and makes sense to the user and making their job easier is the number one priority. They shouldn't work hard to know where they need to get so using the InVision app helps us test our interactions to see if they do make sense to the user. If not, we go back to the drawing board and create a different simpler interaction or maybe replace the item somewhere else that makes more sense.

The only cons about this app is that you have to create a page for every interaction, so it becomes tedious work. It takes up a lot of time to create everything, but it's easy to set up. You just upload your pages and create boxes of different links and you link them to the page they need to go. You can ever do a hover state with the links. If you wanted you can also share your project and get other people's opinions on what you created.

It's a decent app, and it maybe worth trying if you have the time. I enjoy it because I'm able to create and high fidelity prototype for my user to test and see if they like how the links and interactions work. But it might not be for everyone.
